Less than a month ago, the Habs stumbled into the playoffs and looked like they would be an easy pray for the North Division champions. Fast forward to today and this same team has won its last 5 games, what changed? |

I picked the Habs to win the North and predicted they could make it to the cup and got ripped on the Pens board.... thank you Habs, keep it going.
I would love to see the Habs win it this year. |

I sure hope Montreal sends a nice thank you card to the league for helping them carve out an easy path to advance In the playoffs, It's quite obvious the NHL hierarchy wants at least one subpar Canadian team to go as far as they can. |

Can't remember who said it but I second the appreciation of the blog link in the comment pointing out a new blog. It might only save me a click and a slight scroll down but it's the sprinkles on the donut.
Also, good blog |

Whatever man, haters gonna hate. About time for a Canadian Team to get back to glory, count how many Canadian players you have on a stanley cup winning team last 5 years |

that's exactly why I would like to keep the canadian division going forward.
sadly it won't happen. |

Canadian teams need to step up either way, need to win it sooner rather than later |

Excellent blog as usual Karine.
You're the best and we sure are spoiled to be in the 2nd round, AND have you light the way for us through it all.
I just hope you haven't put out a new blog in the time it took me to type this??

I will take the wins and the fun of watching the Habs go further than most people expected. And yeah, this series is not over, but I suspect they will win it. At least, they should.
But as you said, the Habs got a lot of breaks making this run a lot easier - JT and Muzzin out for large parts of round 1 and Stastny, DeMelo, and Scheifele in this series.
You can point to the Habs being where they are to likely having better depth, or at least, players that can step in and play the same types of role (ie: Leks for Evans), acquisitions like Staal finally deciding to show up the last few games after a horrid regular season (does this last?), and finally some adjustments by the coaching staff.
And the kids. Well, when they get to play.
Regardless, likely good enough for MB to get a contract extension and DD to get the full time job next year.

It's really the prime time for Habs considering the age of Price and Weber and the young guys coming up to replace some of the older guys who might be leaving as UFAs. They have a few more years of leeway but Bergevin was smart to go for it right now and it's paying off. I wasn't convinced as the season went on but it's totally working out. Can't say I'm fully cheering for them but would rather they win than Tampa, Boston or some of the other teams still in the mix. |

Oh definitely unless of course there was a pandemic which shut the border and prevented teams from traveling to and from the USA but surely we would have known if that happened....oh wait... |

Oh yeah Bergevin is definitely staying now and same goes for Ducharme as well. Guess we’ll see what he can do in a regular season when he has a whole training camp to put his mark on the team.

I wouldn't be surprised if both have been confirmed but not yet made public.
